• UNDERSTANDING THE MEDIA

To work effectively with the media, spokespeople need to understand the priorities and challenges faced by journalists themselves. An understanding of the media landscape and the operations of individual producers helps capitalise on media opportunities and minimise the risks from widespread coverage in the press.

  • INSIDE VIEW OF THE MEDIA

Today, astute managers and executives ensure they are well equipped to make each media opportunity a positive one for their organisation. Our unique approach provides an insider’s view of the issues confronting journalists and the differing demands of editorial deadlines. Knowing when to get your message out, and to whom, gives your organisation the edge. There are also times when it is important to avoid the media spotlight, and our approach includes training in crisis communications scenarios in order to know what to say to protect your brand’s or organisation’s public reputation.

  • TAILORED TO YOUR ORGANISATION

While there are many issues organisations have in common when dealing with the press, the nuances of your industry, the subject matter and varying capabilities amongst your staff mean that each program must be specifically tailored to each client’s needs and requirements. We get to know your organisation, understand your issues and familiarise ourselves with your many stakeholders to develop media readiness programs that are topical and relevant.

  • LIVE AND CURRENT ISSUES

We conduct ongoing research and constantly update all training materials. This allows us to provide clients with ‘live’ examples and scenarios, so the content is always relevant and up-to-date.

  • TRAINED AND SEASONED JOURNALISTS

The NewsFlash Media team boasts decades of media industry experience. Our trainers and facilitators include current and former journalists, as well as producers from television news and current affairs programs, print and radio. As part of the training program, participants are interviewed by seasoned reporters in a controlled, secure and confidential environment. Each participant gains an understanding of the practical differences in interview styles between newspapers, television and radio, and receives incisive and constructive guidance to polish his/her performance.
